Q&A
Is my pie linked?
If you go onto your pie, and into holdings, it should say at the top whether or not the pie is linked to the owner. Make sure your pie is linked to have an up to date pie.
How to invest your money? Custom, Self-balancing or By targets?
This is a personal decision, there are general suggestions but as per peoples finances, not all suggestions fulfil the situations needs.
- I typically ignore the custom option as its over complicated.
- Self-balancing is better when you’ve first started and the portfolio is being built up.
- By targets is the one I prefer when your portfolio size changes slightly to new capital being invested.
How long does it take to get a dividend?
There are 4 relevant dates Declaration, Ex-dividend date, Record Date & Payment Date. When you invest into the pie you will need to wait until the future ex-dividend payments for each of the holdings to qualify for the dividends.
Dividends aren’t paid out immediately after purchase.
You can get weekly updates of the upcoming Ex-Dividend dates by signing up to my weekly email here.
